About Us

In February of 2018, Veronica and Skip Sevier saw an episode of ''Returning the Favor'', a show Mike Rowe produces on Facebook. Mike and his crew were in Twin Falls, Idaho, interviewing a group of people building beds for kids in a drafty cinder block building. You can view the episode here:

Immediately touched by the story (in 2017, SHP had nine chapters and built 784 beds), the couple contacted the SHP headquarters in Twin Falls, signed up for training (online first, then Skip traveled to Twin Falls) and qualified to establish Sleep In Heavenly Peace GA-Dawsonville in June of 2018.

As of October, 2018, there were 106 local SHP chapters and nationwide, they've built over 1900 beds!

We provide (at no charge) sturdy, well-made wooden beds, mattresses, pillows and linens to families with children ages 3 to 17 in our local area.

Do you know of a kid who needs a bed? Please apply at: https://www.shpbeds.org/request-bed

They were SO excited about their beds, they crawled into them at NOON!
Bed #3 in this particular Saturday delivery.
Bed #4; they work equally well as twin beds.
People of all ages can help with construction and delivery.
These ladies were very grateful for the four beds delivered to their group home.
The group home director was also very grateful
