About Us

Mission Statement:
To serve children with disabilities and their typical peers through state-of-the-art educational, therapeutic, nursing and family support services in an integrated environment.

Program Description:
Since 1985, Challenged Child and Friends (CCAF) has been known and respected in North Georgia as a place where families can turn when faced with the often-overwhelming task of caring for a young child with a disability. CCAF provides high quality educational, therapeutic, nursing, and family support services to children with disabilities and their typical peers. CCAF offers an inclusive environment where children ages 6 weeks to 6 years with special needs learn and interact with their typically developing peers, providing families the convenience of educational, therapeutic, nursing and family support services in an integrated, inclusive environment within a single venue. Our staff to student ratio is 1:4, for every four students there is a teacher or paraprofessional available to assist and care for them. The on-site, full-time nursing services provide the opportunity for children with significant medical needs; seizure management, tube feedings, etc., to receive a quality early education experience with their typical peers. CCAF is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, is licensed by Bright from the Start, and instruction is based on the Georgia Early Learning and Development Standards. Financial assistance is available to families that qualify, $700,000.00 was awarded to families in each of the last two fiscal years
