About Us

For 15 years, Jim Gibbs traveled the world viewing gardens of every style and decided he wanted to design and build a world-class garden. From 1980 through 2011, he focused on finding a suitable site with a natural water source and beautiful mature trees covering a rolling topography. In March 2012, his dream came true when Gibbs Gardens opened to the public.

Fast forward, today, Gibbs Gardens is one of the nation’s largest residential estate gardens.

356 acres of mature trees, rolling hills, parkland, artistically designed flower gardens, 20 seasonal flower displays and five unique feature gardens. Recognized as one of the Thirteen Best Botanical Gardens in America, highlighted in Explore Georgia and named the top garden in Georgia by the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Gibbs Gardens always has something new in bloom. Visit March through mid-April and behold one of “The World’s 10 Best Places to see Daffodils.” From May through November, the look of the Gardens changes every two weeks.
